Let’s face it, vacations can cost a lot of money and not the best values are to be had at hotels. Even in luxurious five-star hotels, space is still limited to a room. Rooms can get cramped and are not great places to relax after a long day at the beach or wandering around taking in the local culture and sites.
Like many, we too own fractional vacation property or time shares. These can be a great value if held and used over time since they are essentially small apartments with all the comforts of home. Most have kitchens and multiple bedrooms for privacy.
But timeshare ownership is not cheap. Besides the cost of the timeshare itself, there are the annual maintenance dues to keep the furnishings and grounds up to date, insured, etc. Since most of us exchange every year rather than go back to the same place, is there a better way? You bet there is!
